MWIA x PFTIA Corporate Visit Tour | 20 June 2025 – Penang
The Malaysian Wood Industries Association (MWIA) was proud to join the PFTIA Corporate Visit Tour on 20 June 2025, a day of insightful exploration into Penang’s thriving timber and furniture industry.
This tour brought us to several innovative and inspiring businesses that exemplify the values of sustainability, craftsmanship, and forward-thinking in our sector:
? Recafi Furniture (Bukit Minyak) – Known for their high-quality home furniture, Recafi operates across Penang, Selangor, and Perak, serving both wholesale and retail markets with stylish and durable pieces.
? Equal Base Warehouse (Valdor) – A trailblazer in green logistics, this RM300 million facility is Malaysia’s first carbon-neutral logistics warehouse, built with low-carbon concrete and powered by solar energy.
? OEM Furniture Concept (Butterworth) – A trusted B2B furniture manufacturer delivering custom-made solutions with decades of experience in quality craftsmanship.
? Chengal House (Nibong Tebal) – A beautifully restored architectural gem constructed with salvaged Malaysian timber. Chengal House is a celebration of heritage, sustainability, and the timeless beauty of reclaimed wood.
We extend our sincere thanks to PFTIA for their warm hospitality and for organizing such a meaningful and enriching tour. The visit not only highlighted the dynamic synergy between innovation and sustainability but also reaffirmed the deep-rooted traditions that continue to shape Malaysia’s timber industry. ??![]()
